The latest single from IST IST’s upcoming album, Protagonists, is the excellent ‘Something Has To Give’. The Manchester band have taken things up a gear with the new song, which ditches the serene electronic influences of their previous offering and replaces them with an adrenaline-fuelled kick of winding guitars and explosive percussion. Frontman Adam Houghton’s unique voice sits perfectly atop compressed, gritty riffs. He, rather cryptically says: “‘Something Has To Give’ is all about new beginnings. It’s a sort of stick or twist situation. Do you settle or go for it?”. The band are heading out on a UK tour this Spring and will be releasing Protagonists on March 31st, 2023. -Dan Peeke.
